Chalk it up to bad breaks
May 29, 2009 Okay, so the series is underway. And the play, on most days, has been stellar. Here’s where we stand: Brian “Nice Shot” Nelson: 16 Brent “Re-rack” Rinne: 25 The highlight of the past two weeks’ action was the superb defensive play of … a corner pocket. Skill be damned, on countless shots we’ve been denied the success and satisfaction we deserved. Instead of sinking shot after easy shot, we were mocked with thunderous rattles, the pocket shooing away our attempts with the ferocity of a malfunctioning pinball game.
