No one goes into advertising for the glory, cuz there ain’t hardly none.

No one goes into it for the money, because there’s usually more glory than money.

We go into this business because we’re passionate about good communication.

Which brings us to this guy.

A true role model for passion.

If we don’t feel about our new work the way this guy feels about an old hotel sign, we ought to hang it up right now.

Cuz in all probability, the glory ain’t coming.

(Warning:  This video is effing funny and effing inspiring, but it does contain quite a few eff bombs.)

Chris says:

This is f@#king hilarious…no s*#t. Thanks for sharing! I hope more “artists” will see and heed.

Miguel says:

We need more passionate people–in every industry. Wonder what the guy did with his authentic sign?

Rick Bryant says:

I’ve spent the last 20 years photographing every cool old neon sign I’ve come across in this country. It is a dieing art form. Hell, look at Holiday Inn just changed their logo to a big frickin’ H. Remember the old signs with the yellow gold and green with the neon light up the side that went to a point with a star at the top? That was Americana. RIP to the all the Stuckey’s, HoJo and other cool signs of my youth. Now where can I sell a shit sign for $15,000?

Eric says:

I feel this dude’s pain. Can you imagine how hard it is for me to see a website that still uses the tag or an application that doesn’t carry an OOP stamp of approval.
