Social Media point(s) of view
May 4, 2009
While working with clients, I’m often asked to discuss social media – how to use it strategically, how to use it effectively, or just plain how to use it. Not being the shy and quiet type, I usually provide my thoughts on how social media could (or could not) be used to further engage a brand’s audience. Social media provides an influential tool to reach audiences online and in ways they already naturally engage. But, how, where and when (if at all) do you use social media tools? What is the best approach?
Hint: If you’re looking for the answer to this question, it’s not in this post.
The answer to this is ever-changing – and certainly changes with every brand and every campaign. But, there are general, large encompassing ideas that we believe about social media. And we plan to share thoughts on this – through this blog and other tools.
The benefit is that instead of one person’s ideas on social media, you have the power and resources of an entire agency. The beautiful thing about working here is that we have smart, talented people from every discipline. We hash out big, industry-changing ideas – with minimal bruises (most of the time) – and come out with a great mix of thoughts for the industry and our clients.
Stay tuned as we talk about these discussions in our newest use of social media. More to come.
