We’ve resolved to lift our community and benefit a cause every month through 2017. January is National Blood Donor Month, so what better way to kick off our Year of Lift than with a blood drive?
In the winter months, blood banks often run low. Any one of us could face the need for a supply of healthy blood sometime in our lives, whether it’s a planned infusion for a chronic illness or the result of a sudden trauma. It’s a need that transcends differences among human beings, no matter who we are or where we come from.
When you give blood, you are helping to save someone’s life. Plus, you usually get a cookie afterward — so we were sold. We rolled up our sleeves, tried not to look at the needle, and began our Year of Lift.
